9th Grade Performs Comedy and Tragedy

The ninth grade completed their Main Lesson Block on Comedy and Tragedy last Friday with a collection of scenes from classical and contemporary theatrical comedies and tragedies including Agamemnon, Midsummer Night’s Dream, Medea, ‘Night Mother and selections from Christopher Durang.

This is an example of the integrated learning characteristic of Waldorf education.  Alongside the intensive 12-day study of the plays and the mechanisms of comedy and tragedy, the work was enhanced by period musical selections as well as mask making in art brought together in a final performance at the Well in the Pratt Center at Goddard College.
