The Central Vermont High School Initiative has been preparing steadily to open it’s doors at the Stokes Building at Goddard College for incoming 9th grade, and has now decided to go forward with 10th grade as well beginning September 3, 2013.
Please join us on Wednesday August 21 from 4-6 for our last Open House
of the summer! All are welcome at our Open House: we’d love to see current students and families, interested prospective families, Waldorf faculty and staff from our sister school’s in Vermont, Goddard faculty and staff, our Earthwalk neighbors, and any one else interested in this inspiring endeavor. We’d love to meet you and/or rekindle relationships with those who have been involved with our 3 year effort to start this wonderful school.
Over the last three years CVHSI has been refining the vision to provide a Central Vermont High School in alignment with the work of Rudolf Steiner, Austrian philosopher, social reformer, and founder of the Waldorf schools. There are currently four Waldorf schools in Vermont, though only one high school in Shelburne Vermont. The other three pre-K through 8 schools are Orchard Valley in East Montpelier, Wellspring in North Tunbridge and Upper Valley in Quechee. Waldorf education provides a multisensory learning environment, cultivating the intelligence of the whole human being. The whole human being takes action from their own individual, free thinking, informed by a full palate of feelings. Movement, artistic activity, clear observation, rigorous intellectual activity, hearty discussion, and community purpose and service are some of the experiences designed to meet the strength and sensitivity of adolescence.
Please contact Joan for an application (802-322-4408 or firstname.lastname@example.org) or come and meet our faculty and other members of our organization on Wednesday August 21st 4-6 pm.
